Details
The Bessa R2M is a very popular camera for the traditionalist. The camera has built in metering but other than the small battery used to operate this meter the camera is totally mechanical. There is no aperture priority like its R2A cousing; instead a simple to use + /- metering system is visible through the viewfinder. The lack of battery dependence is a very attractive attribute. If the battery fails for whatever reason you can still continue to shoot.
This camera is fitted with the VM bayonet mount so will take lenses from Leica M, Zeiss ZM and of course Voigtlander's own VM range. L39mm screw mount lenses can also be used with the body with the help of a M bayonet adpater ring, also made by Voigtlander.
The viewfinder has frame lines for 35/50/75/90mm. Wider lenses such as 28mm, 25mm, 21mm, 15mm and 12mm can also be used with the aid of hotshoe viewfinders for composition.
