Details
Quantum's QPAQ-X is a modular, high power battery pack system designed to power one or more Qflash X flash heads.
The core of the system is the PX Command module, which houses a 200Ws capacitor bank, 2 QflashX outlets and the controls. This is then powered by either the PB1 Hi Performance battery (approx. 350 flashes @ 200Ws) or the smaller & lighter PB2 Compact battery (approx. 160 flashes @ 200Ws).
In its basic form, a PX + battery will supply a maximum of 200Ws to a single QflashX head, or up to 100Ws to each of 2 QflashX heads. This is already more power than with the QflashT, but as it is modular, can be expanded to give more power.
A PXC 200WS add on on module can be added into the stack, giving a maximum of 400Ws to a single QflashX head, or up to 200Ws to each of 2 QflashX heads. Furthermore, one or two additional PXC modules can be added when using 2 QflashX heads, to give a total output of 600Ws or 800Ws respectively. So, a compact and portable flash system can be developed to give studio flash levels of power, without tying you to the mains or heavy and bulky monobloc heads.
The Qflash/QPAQ is not just a location flash; using the PAC module and your standard QPAQ charger, the system can be mains powered when in the studio, thereby extending its usefulness. Like the QflashT, the QflashX can be fully dedicated with a wide selection of cameras, used with the FreeXWire radio slave system and Qflash accessories.
