The 40/2.0 Ultron SL II lens is a new incarnation of the famed 'pancake' 40mm lens from Voigtlander.
This version will be available in Pentax K (PK) bayonet mount, Nikon AI-s mount, and Canon EF mount with the added attraction of an in lens CPU like a P Nikkor for electronic metering coupling and full multi mode operation with AF and Digital SLR cameras.
The 40/2 Ultron is supplied with a stylish dome type lens hood and an accessory close up lens to give a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 (1/4 life size on 35mm film) at a focus distance of 25cm.
The rear element is made from ultra high refractive index glass, with both its surfaces aspherical.
On a DSLR with an APS C sized sensor, it behaves as a short portrait lens (equivalent to 60mm in 35mm terms) when taking the field of view crop into account.
