These are Standard or 'all over' ND filters for overall light reduction in the scene, usually used to allow slower shutter speeds than the ambient lighting dictates, or a wider aperture for minimising depth of field.
Two sorts are available:
- Standard - made from high quality resin
- Proglass Standard - multicoated glass filter with extended UV/IR reduction, making colour shifts on digital images (and film to a lesser extent) far less likely than with resin standards.
